I love spring.

As a matter of fact, I’m starting to think it’s my favorite season.

When I was younger, I liked winter. I used to love the snow and the cold. I loved winter sports, and I enjoyed bundling up to go outside. Yup, I was a northerner and proud of it.

Now that I’m older, though, I’m not as big a fan.

What I like most about spring is that it’s the beginning of nicer weather. Yes, we can get snow here in April, but it doesn’t last long.

I also like the longer days. Daylight saving time means we have longer evenings in spring. I love going for a walk after dinner with Sadie, while it’s still light out.

I also love spring flowers. Sometime soon, I know I will see crocuses starting to pop up everywhere. I’m going to have to remember to plant more this fall. And soon after I find the crocuses – BANG – you know cherry blossoms, daffodils, and tulips will appear. It makes me happy to see them after so many months of grey and brown.

Spring is a season for new beginnings and a time to appreciate nature’s beauty, and honestly, I’m here for it.

So, goodbye, winter!

I’m done with you.

So, uh, just go away.

Bring on the baseball games and picnics.

I’m ready for all the warmer, brighter days ahead!

Woot!
